Inter Process Communication (IPC)

A process can be of two types:

 Independent process. 

Co-operating process.

The execution of other processes cannot effect an independent process, but it can have an impact on a cooperating process. Although it may seem that processes that are operating separately would operate extremely effectively, there are really numerous circumstances in which the cooperative aspect of computing may be used to increase computational speed, convenience, and flexibility.
