There are several text clipping methods, and the choice of method depends on the specific requirements of the application. Below are the various text clipping methods commonly used in computer graphics:

1. Character Clipping

Character clipping involves clipping text at the character level, where each character is evaluated to check if it fits within the clipping region. If a character is partially or fully outside the region, it will be clipped.

  • Simple Character Clipping: If the text spans beyond the clipping region, the characters that exceed the boundaries are simply discarded.
  • Partial Character Clipping: For characters that are partially within the clipping region, only the visible portion is displayed, and the rest is clipped.

Example:

If you have the text "Hello World" and the clipping region only covers the first 5 characters, only "Hello" would be displayed.

2. Word Clipping

In word clipping, the entire word is considered as a unit. If a word is partially or fully outside the clipping area, the whole word is either clipped or omitted.

  • Clipping at Word Boundaries: Words that are partially inside the clipping area will be clipped at the boundary. The clipping process will attempt to avoid cutting words in the middle, preserving word integrity.

3. Line Clipping

5. Ellipsis Clipping (Text Overflow)

This includes the positioning of objects and light sources, defining the photometric

Key-frame systems are specialized animation languages designed simply to generate

the in-betweens from the user-specified key frames.

 

Usually, each object in the scene is defined as a set of rigid bodies connected at the

joints and with a limited number of degrees of freedom.

 

As an example, the single-arr.1 robot in Fig. 16-4 has six degrees of freedom, which

are called arm sweep, shoulder swivel, elbow extension, pitch, yaw, and roll. We can

extend the number of degrees of freedom for this robot arm to nine by allowing

three-dimensional translations for the base (Fig. 16-51. If we also allow base rotations,

the robot arm can have a total of 12 degrees of freedom.

 

The human body, in comparison, has over 200 degrees of freedom.

 

Parameterized systems

 

Parameterized systems allow object-motion characteristics to be specified as part of

the object definitions.

 

The adjustable parameters control such object characteristics as :
